Interested in college tournaments?
The team competes in college bass events and hosts tournaments. A tournament tier is being organized. Additional dues are still to be confirmed. Speak with the tournament director about boats, eligibility, and upcoming opportunities.
Your kind of fishing
Fish together
Team outings, evening fishing near the Terrace, winter ice fishing, and anglers interested in all species. Bring your gear if you have it. Extra rods and tackle are available for group outings.
Learn from each other
Guest speakers and member-led sessions cover techniques, local waters, and the fishing industry. Members can offer to host a session on a topic they know well.
Get involved
Socials, shoreline and community activities, fundraising, and photo contests give you more ways to meet the team. Freshman ambassador applications are planned for October.

Join the team’s list
Use your @wisc.edu email to hold your spot on the signup list and tell us what interests you. Signing up does not confirm membership.

Complete DSE registration
Choose Log in, then University Account, and sign in with your UW NetID. Find Fishing, choose Registration, and complete the required information, Member Consent Form, and Supplemental Health Waiver. The Sport Club Office reviews your registration separately.

Confirm your membership with an officer
Arrange dues, confirm your status, and get added to the team’s communication channels. An officer confirms your membership separately. Website signup alone does not confirm membership or complete university participation approval.
Membership questions
Can I join just to fish recreationally?
Yes. Recreational and competitive fishing are both part of the team’s mission. Members have a wide range of experience and involvement.
How do I borrow gear?
Rods and tackle are available to dues-paying members. Ask the team advisor to arrange checkout and return. Group outings also have extra equipment available.
How do I hear about outings?
Email and the team group chat carry announcements. Speak with a board member to get added to the chat. Specific outing details are shared with members.
Are trips and tournaments included in dues?
Some activities may have separate costs. The team may provide support for eligible travel or lodging. Confirm each event’s costs and reimbursement requirements with an officer before booking or spending.
Can I get team apparel?
Shirts and hats are available through the apparel manager. Jersey orders are planned for later in the fall, typically around $70. A broader apparel order usually runs between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ask for current availability and pricing.
How are sponsored members selected?
Sponsored membership has limited places and is selected by the sponsorship coordinator. College competition, leadership, and active involvement are factors. Paying the sponsored rate does not guarantee selection.
